Even after decades of freedom, India is struggling
to provide basic health services to its people.
According to government sources, in India 1
person dies every 2 minutes due to TB. And annually,
about 5 lakh people die due to preventable disease.
One TB affected person spread Micobacterium
Tuberculosis to 10-15 persons annually.
The situation calls for timely care and diagnosis
which can reduce the incidence of morbidity
and mortality. DAWN trust has implementing GKS
meetings to general public, SHG,VHWSC, Students
and teacher in Perambalur District under Axshya
G9 TB project through CHAI. Special programs
like Rally and Exhibition organized in order
to create awareness. Curative, Preventive and
referral services, Identification of default
members, referral service, provides knowledge
about DOTS provisions, care and support for
affected person are the aim of the program.
Awareness created on 1. Signs and symptom(Continuous
cough more than 2 weeks,Evening fever, Loss
of appetite, Weight loss, Chest pain, Sputum
with blood). 2. Preventive measures, DO’s
and Don’ts. 3. Methods of Test. 4. Directly
observed Treatment short course (DOTS) service.5.
